Last fall we had six moose hunters in three different camps. Five hunters filled their tags, for an outstanding season of success. While spot and stalk is the normal approach for moose hunting throughout Alaska, a number of hunters have good success calling. We’ve called in moose for years, and have had good results using moose decoys, too.

In one camp last September, outdoor writer, Scott Haugen, and his hunting partner, Chris Stewart, joined us. Both men took nice bull moose, and both tags were punched due to a team effort of calling and using decoys.

Here’s a brief story Scott wrote about the details of how those hunts unfolded. This story is in the January 2018 issue of Alaska Sporting Journal.
